mEET Paul
Paul Holm is a writer, photographer, and communicator based in Austin with a passion for storytelling through both written and visual media. Specializing in on-the-ground reporting, environmental journalism, and narrative nonfiction, he enjoys tracking down compelling stories and meeting fascinating people across the country, especially those whose lives and work intersect with the natural world. Through photography and writing, Holm aims to bring readers directly into the environments and communities he covers.
His work has been featured in publications including Smithsonian Magazine, the Savannah Morning News, Savannah Made Simple, and WSAV-TV, among others. Whether covering coastal ecosystems, local communities, or outdoor culture, his reporting blends immersive storytelling with a strong visual perspective.
In addition to journalism, Holm has a deep interest in fiction writing and longform storytelling inspired by the American South, environmental history, and life along the coast.
Outside of writing, Holm is an avid runner and former collegiate cross-country and track athlete. Running has taken him across the country and remains a major part of his life, shaping both his discipline and his perspective as a storyteller.
Holm graduated magna cum laude from Savannah College of Art and Design, where he studied writing. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in journalism at The University of Texas at Austin.
